Financial Services Consultant I

About the role

Join Oregon State Credit Union as a Financial Services Consultant I and help members build and maintain a solid financial foundation. You’ll open new membership accounts, consult on consumer lending needs, educate members on relevant products and services, research inquiries to resolution, and handle basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals. The role is relationship‑focused, emphasizing personal connections to provide tailored financial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Open new membership accounts for individuals and businesses.
• Consult with members on consumer lending needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Educate members on available financial products and services relevant to their situations.
• Research member inquiries and ensure follow‑through to resolution.
• Handle basic transactions, including deposits and withdrawals.
• Develop strong, personal relationships with members to understand their financial goals.

Requirements

• At least one year of relevant customer service experience (consulting, sales, and cash handling experience highly preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Positive attitude with a proven ability to drive sales through excellent service.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred; proficiency in Spanish qualifies for a language pay differential.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving aptitude and ability to resolve challenges independently.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

Pay

$21–$23 per hour, dependent on experience, plus bonus and incentive opportunities. Language pay differential available for candidates proficient in Spanish.

Schedule

Full‑time, on‑site, non‑exempt position. Must be available Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 6:15 pm.
