About the role
Acts as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Performs a broad variety of member service including opening and closing accounts, responding to member inquiries regarding Credit Union services, and performing account maintenance. Cross-sells products and services.
Responsibilities
- Opens all types of new deposit accounts offered by the Credit Union, including qualifying members for membership, interviewing members to determine needs, and processing requests via online system(s).
- Services existing members' accounts, including interviewing members to determine needs, processing requests via online system(s), completing account maintenance requests and appropriate forms, transferring funds, balancing accounts, and closing accounts.
- Promotes credit union products and services based on member needs and actively cross-sells products and services.
- Responds to member requests and resolves member issues directly or coordinates resolution with appropriate personnel.
- Provides prompt, professional, courteous service in-person, via telephone, and through electronic media, including email.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to a productive, professional work environment through positive, courteous interactions with personnel, assisting other departments as directed, and maintaining communication with management regarding area activities and challenges.
- Safeguards member information by applying the highest level of confidentiality and securing all member information in public work areas.
- Performs teller duties as directed, including cashing checks, receiving deposits and loan payments, and balancing cash drawer in the teller area.
- Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
- Maintains a clean, professional work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of member services and products provided.
- One to three years of banking experience preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication and public relations skills.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including 10-key and telephone.
- Solid math and bookkeeping abilities.
