About the role

Future Finance is a capital‑intelligence media brand (newsletter, LinkedIn, X, YouTube) that builds reach and credibility for a US‑based audience aged 45 plus with net worth above $1 M. The brand’s tone is calm, premium and institutional – never wealth‑guru, outrage or doom – because that is what the target audience trusts.

The role is to write Future Finance’s long‑form YouTube scripts (30‑35 minutes, roughly 4,200 words, one per week) and own the research behind every claim, while also cutting 3‑4 short‑form scripts from each episode.

Responsibilities

• Write long‑form YouTube scripts (30‑35 min, ~4,200 words) and own the research behind every claim.
• Produce 3‑4 short‑form scripts from each episode for distribution.
• Deliver a publish‑ready script weekly as a full package: research memo, six‑beat hook, body, retention map, SHOW/SOURCE tags inline, and a self‑scored review sheet.
• Clear the review gate at a score of 7 of 9 or better on first submission against the Future Finance Content Standard.
• Ensure zero unsourced factual claims – every claim carries a SOURCE tag to a primary document, both sides of contested arguments are argued, and thin research is flagged, never filled in with a plausible number.
• Meet retention targets: 70 %+ first‑minute retention and average view duration above the channel baseline.
• Maintain compliance: no predictions, no recommendations, no certainty language about future events.
• Execute weekly: submit the research memo ahead of packaging, attend the weekly review, remain Slack‑available during working hours, and flag deadline risk the day it is known.

Requirements

• Sourcing discipline – open the primary document, not secondary articles, and defend any claim on the spot.
• Finance literacy – able to read a 10‑K, central bank statement, or BIS paper and extract an argument.
• Register control – raise a script’s emotional voltage without wealth‑guru or doom tools, and rewrite hype without losing stakes.
• Retention craft – design open loops, pattern interrupts, and a climax purposefully; able to draw a retention map because you built it that way.
• Writing for the ear – scripted for a teleprompter: one idea per sentence, every term defined at first use, read aloud before submission.
• Comfort working inside someone else’s frame – flag a hole in the argument and stop; do not hedge or quietly strengthen a claim the host can’t defend.
• Proactivity, attention to detail, high standards, curiosity about macro and digital assets, and integrity about what you have and haven’t checked.

Qualifications

• Proven scale – seven figures of cumulative views on finance, macro, investing or business long‑form (or a verified 3×‑plus outlier against a serious finance channel’s trailing average); must be 25‑minute‑plus long‑form; retention data (average view duration, first‑minute retention) required, shown live via YouTube Studio screenshare or confirmed by the channel owner.
• High‑value audience – not just large; the channel’s sponsor class and CPM are good proxies for a 45‑plus, $1 M+ net worth viewer.
• At least one sample in a calm, sourced, institutional register – if the whole portfolio is hype, get‑rich or doom content, that is a disqualifier regardless of numbers.
• Willingness to complete a paid work sample – one assigned title, five working days, $1,250 (paid whether or not hired).
