BAE Systems is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive financial reports that provide critical insights into the organization's financial health. This role ensures accuracy of financial data, compliance with accounting standards, and delivers actionable intelligence to leadership for strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports.
  • Develop and maintain detailed spend plans to track expenditures against allocated funding; monitor burn rates to ensure alignment with project milestones and prevent overruns.
  • Lead the planning and projection of out-year budgets, utilizing historical data and strategic forecasts to estimate future funding requirements and resource needs.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) to identify trends, anomalies, and drivers of financial performance.
  • Ensure all reporting adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal organizational governance policies.
  • Streamline reporting workflows by automating manual spreadsheets and enhancing the efficiency of data collection.
  • Partner with department heads and operational leads to provide financial commentary and support budgetary planning.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and ensuring data integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or external auditing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas) and familiarity with internal financial management tools.
  • Strong ability to synthesize large datasets into concise, executive-level summaries.
  • Unwavering accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to meet strict monthly and quarterly closing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Prior experience working within a highly regulated industry (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, or Government Contracting).

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $97,008 - $164,914. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
