About the Opportunity

The Financial Reporting Accountant 2 role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports, supporting internal and external users. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, reconciling accounts, and supporting accounting analyses that inform management decisions. The role contributes to the organization's financial transparency and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external use
  • Prepare journal entries with proper support
  • Complete thorough account reconciliations
  • Perform ad-hoc projects to improve financial reporting services
  • Serve as a resource for accounting analysis to departmental management
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Absorb technical research on accounting transactions and new guidance
  • Cook with departmental personnel to align accounting results with operational activities
  • Use advanced spreadsheet skills to manage and analyze financial and statistical data
  • Communicate effectively to ensure team alignment
  • Collaborate with external auditors to provide accurate and timely information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business management, or related field, or 8 years of equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting or finance roles
  • PREFERRED: in-depth accounting experience and familiarity with the entire accounting cycle
  • PREFERRED: strong written and verbal communication skills
