Responsibilities
- Portfolio Performance Monitoring & Analysis
- Analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and working capital trends
- Track and interpret KPIs, operational metrics, and unit economics across portfolio companies
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards, performance trackers, and reporting tools for internal stakeholders
- Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc performance reviews
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across portfolio reporting
- Value Creation & Operational Support
- Identify performance gaps, risks, and opportunities relative to investment theses
- Support operational improvement initiatives, margin expansion efforts, and growth strategies
- Aid in evaluating the financial impact of pricing changes, cost initiatives, and strategic investments
- Investment Committee & Stakeholder Support
- Prepare performance summaries and materials for investment committee and portfolio review meetings
- Communicate key insights, trends, and risks in a clear, data-driven manner
- Support post-acquisition reviews and lessons-learned analyses
- Transaction & Strategic Analysis (As Needed)
- Assist with analysis for add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit planning
- Support updates to valuation and return models based on actual performance
- Contribute to scenario analysis around strategic alternatives and timing decisions
Requirements
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills are essential, with experience building dashboards being a plus. A solid understanding of accounting, financial statements, and performance metrics is necessary. Prior internships or experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, FP&A, or corporate finance is beneficial. Exposure to performance tracking, budgeting, forecasting, or operational analysis is preferred. Demonstrated interest in portfolio management and value creation is also important.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical thinking with attention to detail, the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, clear written and verbal communication skills, and comfort working across multiple portfolio companies and stakeholders. Coachability, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset are highly valued.

$140,000 – $185,000+ total compensation (varies by employer)
