Financial Operations Associate
About the role
Acorns is seeking a Financial Operations Associate to play a key role in the daily management and execution of our investment product operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cash and security transfers, while maintaining meticulous documentation and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of the firm’s daily cash and security transfers related to the firm’s investment products.
- Monitor customer cash balances on a daily and periodic basis to identify unusual fluctuations, deficits, or excess balances.
- Gather essential data points from vendors to support daily operational tasks.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure accurate reporting and classification of customer funds.
- Improve and maintain documentation of internal control processes, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the Investment Operations team to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies and improve existing processes.
- Contribute to special projects focused on continuous process improvements and operational efficiency.
- Ensure WORM-compliance related to FinOp books and records.
- Work with manager and team to establish priorities, including new features, infrastructure, and tool building.
Requirements
- 0 to 1 year+ of professional experience in a financial services, FinTech, or highly regulated operations role.
- Educational background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all operational processes.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand Broker-Dealer compliance requirements, such as WORM (Write Once, Read Many), and financial record-keeping.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Pay
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $70,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
