About the role

Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services and recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles, processes, and consolidates financial, budget, and accounting data.
  • Assists higher-graded employees with the detailed analysis of incoming financial reports and statements.
  • Conducts comprehensive reviews and analyses of operating programs to ensure compliance with established policies and effective resource utilization.
  • Participates in surprise cash counts and periodic internal control inspections.
  • Identifies and analyzes procedural issues within financial document workflows (e.g., daily activity reports, petty cash).
  • Contributes to the development of corrective action plans and provides recommendations for procedural changes.
  • Aids in drafting formal reports for senior leadership, outlining findings from analyses and inspections, and recommending specific changes to operational procedures, identifying training needs, and suggesting adjustments in resource allocation.

Requirements

  • United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for at least three (3) continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Work schedule will be irregular, and the incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.

Qualifications

  • Resumes must be two pages (or less).
  • Must possess work experience performing duties such as cashier functions (e.g., receiving payment and providing change for service fees; credit card processing), updating customer files with new information, maintaining office filing system, organizing and communicating professionally through written correspondence and oral communication, and working knowledge of principles, practices and methods of budget formulation, operation and functions of computers to provide problem solving resolution and service to users.
