Financial Management Specialist

About the role

The position is open exclusively to current Dept of War (DoW) federal employees. Applicants must submit their most recent SF50 to verify eligibility. Applications without the required SF50 and other supporting documents will be considered incomplete and not forwarded for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Direct a wide array of critical financial functions to ensure mission readiness.
• Support mission partners by certifying multiple appropriations, guaranteeing fiscal compliance, resolving complex accounting discrepancies, and driving improvements to financial system/services.

• Obtain & maintain a security clearance
• May be required to travel for temporary duty

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

• Knowledge of DoD budgetary and commonly used accounting practices, methods, and techniques and generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
• Knowledge of DoD missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes and sources of funding pertinent to installation base and tenant organizations.
• Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to process of financial analysis, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or inventory and supply data.
• Knowledge of DoD automated data processing concepts and financial management systems capabilities to accomplish accounting tasks.
• Skill in recording and classifying financial data.
• Ability to gather, assemble, interpret, and analyze data and to report financial management information.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to include presenting financial data in written reports, statements, and perform briefings.

Pay

2026 Salary Range ($40,736 - $97,087) yearly w/ locality
