Financial Eligibility Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities align with Catholic Charities' mission, vision, and values.
• Maintain documentation compliant with HIPAA, internal policies, and funding source requirements.
• Communicate eligibility outcomes to clients, program staff, and relevant departments promptly and professionally.
• Track re-certification dates and request updated documentation as necessary for continued eligibility.
• Aid clients in understanding the eligibility process and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with intake staff, case managers, and billing or compliance teams as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with care.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with 1 year of experience.
• Working knowledge of medical billing systems preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance and reimbursement processes.
• Knowledgeable on HIPAA privacy requirements for client/patient information.
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and coordinate schedules.
• Good telephone and client/patient relation skills.
• Ability to work with diverse client populations and community organizations.
• Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
