The Financial Educator role supports patients by providing financial guidance and assistance related to their fertility care. This position contributes by educating patients on benefits, coverage, and financial options, ensuring they understand and can manage the financial aspects of their treatment. The role is essential in facilitating patient access to care through financial advocacy and liaison activities.
Responsibilities
- Consult with patients regarding their benefits, coverage, and financial options
- Perform benefit verification and prior authorization tasks
- Provide ongoing financial education and support throughout patient care
- Maintain and update patient financial and insurance information
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of medical business office experience with healthcare billing, collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interaction
- Ability to interpret payer remittance advice including allowed charges, contractual adjustments, denials, and patient responsibility
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience in an OB/GYN office is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, independent worker, computer proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- High level of customer service
Pay
$23.00 to $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
