As a Financial Due Diligence Senior Associate, you’ll focus on middle-market transactions, serving dynamic organizations with experienced professionals who bring a full range of advisory services to validate, optimize, and create value. Responsibilities

  • Perform buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including carve-outs and similar services for clients, private equity investors, and asset-based lenders.
  • Help organizations realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital market transactions.
  • Conduct financial due diligence on key areas of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Formulate questions and propose adjustments based on identified risks and business drivers.
  • Lead analysis on operational data, net working capital, debt, and debt-like items.
  • Draft reports (including Quality of Earnings reports) highlighting key financial findings, sustainable profits, and cash flow drivers.
  • Create tailored transaction advisory reports addressing normalized earnings, valuation assumptions, budget achievability, indebtedness, borrowing base calculations, and carve-out financial statements.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development.
  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates.
  • Assess associate performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 2 to 6 years of related work experience in consulting or transaction advisory services at a national level.
  • CPA preferred or CPA in process.
  • Experience in accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior consulting experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is between $121,440 and $154,836. Placement within the range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion and based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, progression, geographic location, and internal equity.

Schedule

This position follows the firm’s hybrid work model, requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a Grant Thornton office or client site.
