Financial Counselor- FT|8:30am to 5pm

About the role

Provides financial, credit, debt management counseling and education services to patients. Utilizes alternative means for obtaining coverage for uninsured or underinsured patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex insurance verification and eligibility determinations
• Varies administrative and highly responsible clerical functions of a sensitive nature
• Complex investigative and problem-solving activities in support of minimizing the hospital's bad debt risk

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• 2 years experience as a financial counselor or related role in a healthcare environment Required
• 5 Years Experience In a Clerical Role Required
• General Experience and knowledge of hospital registration and third party billing and regulations Required
• General Experience In Bi-lingual Spanish And English Communication Preferred
