Financial Counselor

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintains patient insurance records.
• Documents patient interactions in the clinical record and billing system.
• Communicates accurate and complete insurance information required for claim submission to the Manager, Revenue Cycle.
• Communicates regularly the status of problem resolution to the Manager, Revenue Cycle and other clinical staff as appropriate.
• Evaluates insurance coverage and identifies gaps.
• Meets with patients, reviews coverage and options and assists patients in applying for available insurance coverage.
• Congnates management of insurance issues with the Insurance Coordination Specialist.
• Assists patients with dialysis transportation arrangements.
• Arranges out of town dialysis for patients desiring to travel.
• Congnates arrangements for incoming transient patients.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid application and eligibility requirements.
• Experience with commercial insurance coverage.
• Experience with End Stage Renal Disease insurance eligibility strongly preferred.

Centers for Dialysis Care is seeking two experienced Financial Counselors to work at multiple locations (Cleveland - East & Beachwood - Garfield, Warrensville & Oakwood). These positions are onsite.
