About the role

To deliver excellent patient‑centered service by facilitating established financial processes that enable and expedite the billing and collection of professional services. The role interacts directly with internal and external customers of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges
• Apply coding/billing rules
• Maximize collections
• Verify insurance
• Obtain authorizations for services
• Review patient account detail
• Provide financial counseling of patients
• Resolve front‑end edits, rejections, and information requests to achieve practice goals

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (minimum)
• Two years of business/financial/physician practice experience (preferably related to patient accounts and collections)
• Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding (preferred)
• Four‑year degree may substitute for two years of financial/physician office experience
• EPIC system knowledge (preferred)
• Associate degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for one year required experience
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
• Comfortable collecting payments and counseling patients regarding financial matters in a professional manner
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritize responsibilities, problem solve, and function in a team environment
