Financial Counselor - ACU | Congenital Heart Center Outpatient Clinic | Full-Time | Days

About the role

Ensures the financial integrity of the Congenital Heart Center Clinic by facilitating established financial processes that enable and expedite the billing and collection of professional services. This position interacts directly with internal and external customers of the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges and apply coding/billing rules
• Verify payer coverage guidelines for physician orders
• Maximize collections and verify insurance
• Obtain authorizations for services
• Review patient account detail
• Provide financial counseling of patients
• Resolve front-end edits, rejections, and information requests to achieve clinic goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of business, financial, or physician practice experience required, preferably in patient accounts, billing, or collections
• Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding preferred
• Experience with the EPIC system preferred

A four-year degree may substitute for two years of required financial or physician office experience. An associate degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for one year of required experience.
