Financial Controller- Experience REQUIRED

Duties & Responsibilities

• Aid the Controller in managing all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
• Create and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper reconciliation of all accounts.
• Analyze dealership financial performance, focusing on truck sales, parts, service, and leasing operations.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory accounting for new and used trucks, parts, and equipment, coordinating with operations teams.
• Evaluate and comply with manufacturer reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Oversight internal controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, conducting variance analysis and reporting to management.
• Collaborate with department managers to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in accounting and financial management.
• Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and dealership management systems (DMS).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 1 hour lunch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (REQUIRED).
• 3–7+ years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial controller role (REQUIRED).
• Multiple locations and/or automotive/truck dealership industry experience (PREFERRED).
• Prior Controller responsibilities or the ability to transition into this role within six months (PREFERRED).
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Experience with inventory accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
