Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aid the Controller in overseeing all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper reconciliation of all accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounting for new and used trucks, parts, and equipment, including coordination with operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting to management.
  • Collaborate with department managers to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in accounting and financial management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, accounting standards, and dealership management systems (DMS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–7+ years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial controller role.
  • Multiple locations and/or automotive/truck dealership industry experience (preferred).
  • Prior Controller responsibilities or ability to transition into this role in under 6 months (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with inventory accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 1 hour lunch.
