Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid the Controller in overseeing all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper reconciliation of all accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile inventory accounting for new and used trucks, parts, and equipment, including coordination with operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting to management.
- Collaborate with department managers to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in accounting and financial management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, accounting standards, and dealership management systems (DMS).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–7+ years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial controller role.
- Multiple locations and/or automotive/truck dealership industry experience (preferred).
- Prior Controller responsibilities or ability to transition into this role in under 6 months (preferred).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with inventory accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 1 hour lunch.
