Financial Controller - Behavioral Health

About the role

Our client is a well-established inpatient Behavioral Health / SUD organization with a current opening for a Financial Controller based in the Boston, MA area. Inpatient behavioral health or hospital experience is required. Relocation candidates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit activities.
• Prepare and oversee annual Medicare cost reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage cash flow, financial performance analysis, and turnaround initiatives to improve profitability.
• Oversee the billing department and revenue cycle operations while building and developing the finance team.

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare finance leadership within a hospital, behavioral health, or SUD organization.
• Strong hospital budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement management experience.
• Hands-on experience preparing or overseeing Medicare cost reporting.
• CPA and/or master's degree preferred; equivalent SUD or behavioral health financial leadership experience will be considered.
