About the role
The Controller at Productive Playhouse (PPH) will oversee the financial engine of the company, including financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and international compliance. Reporting to executive leadership, this role requires strong financial management skills, strategic thinking, and a high level of integrity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations
- Manage cash flow and line-of-credit (LOC) reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive informed decision-making
- Deliver actionable financial insights to executive leadership
- Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Cook up with foreign accounting and audit teams on filings, tax coordination, and board meetings
- Manage corporate filings, business licenses, workers' compensation audits, and insurance renewals
- Partner with HR on benefits administration including health insurance and 401(k)
- Oversee and mentor the accounting and finance team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus
- 5–7+ years of financial management experience, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with international financial coordination and compliance
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP General Ledger, and financial modeling tools
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- A high standard of integrity, precision, and accountability
