Financial Consultant, Employee Benefits

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides Financial/Clinical consulting to clients with respect to their employee benefit health and welfare plans.
  • Responsible for presenting financial/clinical data to clients.
  • Runs and Analyzes client monthly financial reporting (MFSR) and presents MFSRs to clients.
  • Provides complex reporting, presenting results to clients.
  • Participates in development of financial reporting enhancements.
  • Assists in development of new CLUE reporting.
  • Takes prominent role in the development and enhancements of new and existing client budget, financial and clinical analysis and tools.
  • Builds and maintains Financial/Clinical models to support client account teams.
  • Mentors and trains junior staff, as necessary.
  • Recommends complex strategic and tactical initiatives based upon clinical and financial data.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years applicable experience, preferably in the insurance industry [at a brokerage or provider organization].
  • Licensing: Active state specific Life & Health Insurance agent’s license required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
  • Skills & Technical Competencies: Key skills for effective client consulting include a solid grasp of insurance principles to meet strategic needs, strong client management to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions, and sharp analytical abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
