Financial Clearance Supervisor
This position is responsible for supervision of Financial Clearance, including error tracking, staff productivity monitoring, and ensuring accurate and efficient completion of pre-registrations and pre-authorizations. The role also involves monitoring staff compliance with regulations impacting financial clearance, maintaining an exceptional Patient Experience, and building accurate price estimates for patients prior to service. The Supervisor will assist in vendor selection, monitor vendor partnerships, and ensure timely and efficient processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the day-to-day activity of prior authorization, insurance verification, pre-registration, and price estimate functions.
- Ensures workflow processes are established, followed accurately, and efficiently within the department.
- Assists in developing and implementing financial access strategies that impact organizational revenue performance, bad debt reduction, and patient satisfaction metrics.
- Supports initiatives that prioritize a transparent, empathetic, and supportive financial journey for all patients.
- Establishes and collaborates with vendor partners to ensure streamlined and efficient workflows resulting in positive outcomes.
- Trains, leads, mentors, and empowers a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.
- Partners with other departments to optimize front-end processes, minimize denials, and drive revenue cycle efficiency.
- Involved in hiring, onboarding, and performing staff reviews, ensuring key performance indicators are met.
- Identifies workflow improvements and manages quality standards.
- Monitors and trends denials related to financial clearance, making recommendations for improved resolution.
- Provides support to Revenue Cycle on Access-related issues.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or health administration or related field.
- 2-5 years of healthcare experience in Patient Access, Financial Clearance, or related experience with at least 1+ years of supervisory experience.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.
Pay
The wage range for this position is $30.00 – $42.35 per hour. This range reflects the base salary and will be determined based on experience, education, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
80 hours per two-week pay period. Onsite at Northfield Hospital with potential for hybrid work.
