Financial Analyst IRES - SSFB
Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. Must live within fifty miles of the base. Relocation assistance is not available. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring an active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days of offer). Up to 10% travel may be required.
About the role
The Financial Analyst supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Responsibilities
- Track and analyze financial transactions within the organization.
- Prepare and record journal entries and accruals as part of the month-end close process.
- Analyze activity and perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management and company reports, including period-end reports, GL account reconciliation, vendor accounts, and labor records.
- Enter and validate Contract Awards and modifications within the financial system; understand financial requirements of contract awards and modifications.
- Prepare and submit billing/invoices in a timely manner according to contract specifications, including supporting documents such as receipts, statements, invoices, purchase orders, and travel forms.
- Analyze records of present and past operations, trends, costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
- Maintain an organized electronic file system for all contract and billing documentation, staying current with contract changes.
- Identify and drive process improvements that leverage and enhance your skill set.
- Modify database queries and reports to meet analytical demands as required.
- Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality information to the leadership team.
- Assist with special projects assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- 2+ years of general (full-time) work experience (may be reduced with completion of advanced education).
- 1+ years of directly related experience in general accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field.
- Professional experience using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs for large volumes of data.
- Experience operating standard office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone) and proficiency in financial accounting systems.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to dig into details and provide recommendations.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days of offer.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
- Experience identifying process improvements and implementing suggestions.
- Familiarity with Government Contracting, Joint Travel Regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and auditing or direct DoD experience.

Pay
$33.65/hr – $38.46/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
