About the role

The Financial Analyst III supports the Accounts Receivable system, handling billing, record keeping, collection, and account reconciliation. This role acts as a liaison between project management and internal/external customers to ensure accurate and timely billing and cash collections.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end system closing, including reconciling all work order detail reports to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly account analysis and adjusting journal entries as necessary.
  • Maintain internal databases of monthly and year-to-date files from PeopleSoft and accurately post Monthly Accounts Receivable reports on the public site for common users.
  • Work with agency project managers for reporting, maintenance, and auditing requests.
  • Provide various work order cost reporting and analysis as directed.
  • Prepare miscellaneous billings as necessary.
  • Complete day-to-day responsibilities including cash, work order requests, and collection efforts.
  • Manage collections and customer inquiries, reviewing, substantiating, and gathering all supporting documents.
  • Support the Senior Manager in reporting, reviewing, and analyzing day-to-day processes and requests within the Accounts Receivable group.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS), preferably in accounting, finance, business, business administration, economics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive financial/accounting experience with a major government or corporate entity. A master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with monthly general ledger closing and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Collection processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including pivot tables.
  • Outstanding writing and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to resolve issues without constant supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or MBA.
  • Minimum 1 year of knowledge of PeopleSoft system software.

Pay

$86,700 - $96,313

Schedule

  • Full-time.
  • Eligible for teleworking (currently one day per week).li>
  • New hires may apply for telework 30 days after their effective hire date.
