Financial Analyst II

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Perform grant-related pre- and post-award functions, including revenue and expense analysis, financial accounting functions, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Aid departmental leaders with annual operating budget preparation and review, and instruct new managers on budget system use.
• Review budget submissions for accuracy and reasonableness, participating in budget planning meetings.
• Monitor actual-to-budget financial comparisons monthly to identify concerns and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and interpret complex financial analyses and reports for System management.
• Accurately compile and synthesize financial information for financial statement reviews and report maintenance.
• Prepare and post journal entries based on established deadlines, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Skills Required

• Five to seven years of related experience in financial systems.
• Ability to develop and utilize PC-based spreadsheets.
• Effective communication skills as part of a team.
• Ability to analyze and make recommendations based on financial information.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with budget preparation and analysis.

Education Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
