About The Role
The Investment Accounting Financial Analyst II is a vital member of the finance team, responsible for maintaining accurate investment accounting operations and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. This role involves managing the investment subledger, performing detailed financial analytics, and preparing management reports that facilitate strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, data manipulation, and process improvement through technology
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards such as GAAP and STAT
- Experience with financial software; familiarity with ePAM is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile investment trading and cash activity within the investment accounting system
- Conduct valuation processes and perform related controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare net investment income analysis and management reporting to support strategic decisions
- Develop and review investment disclosures on both STAT and GAAP bases
- Compile and submit investment regulatory reports, such as Schedule D
- Assist with audit inquiries related to GAAP and STAT reporting standards
- Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards and company policies
- Manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders regarding deliverables and deadlines
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, leveraging automation and technology
- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy
- Maintain data integrity and control considerations within financial reporting tools
- Exercise sound judgment in reporting, including identifying redundancies and consolidations for efficiency
