Financial Analyst I

About the Role

Assists with analysis of current and historical accounting data and other information to make projections for use in short- and long-range financial planning. Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Participates in projecting future trends and preparing operational forecasts and cash flow analysis. Studies economic and business trends.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial performance in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected outcomes.
• Reviews monthly budget versus actuals variance report and data. Investigates data discrepancies and reports findings to Assistant Directors.
• Assists with pulling data and compiling reports for IFA unit reviews, including spot-checking unit finances for negative balances and accurate programmatic distributions.
• Conducts audits of faculty administration, teaching, research, and extension appointments to check for accuracy in payroll distributions.
• Assists in year-end audits and ensures the accuracy of accounting data.
• Compiles data and reports for IFAS Fee for Service Activities and conducts annual audits to ensure revenue and expenses are reviewed and approved.
• Assists the Assistant Director with review and follow-up for the annual Rate Review process.
• Assists in correcting account balances and reviewing proper accounting controls and procedures.
• Assists in preparing, developing, and monitoring budgets.
• Assists as needed with indirect cost analysis.
• Responds to various tickets regarding financial inquiries and business processes in Salesforce.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerBI.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Analytics.

Pay

$25.38/hr
