About the Role
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities within the mortgage insurance and financial services organization. This role analyzes financial performance, develops forecasts, and provides actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and accounting standards, including GAAP, SEC reporting obligations, and applicable mortgage-related regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability trends to support business decisions.
- Support financial planning and forecasting processes, including scenario modeling.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal financial policies.
- Aid in developing financial models to evaluate business initiatives and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and provide financial insights.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support performance management reporting.
- Absorb other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. 2–5+ years of financial analysis, accounting, or financial services experience, preferably within mortgage or insurance industries. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices. Familiarity with financial services regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., SEC, mortgage-related compliance standards). Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable business insights. Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
