About the Role

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning and analysis activities by developing financial models, preparing reports, analyzing business performance, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role partners with finance, accounting, and business leaders to provide actionable insights that drive strategic and operational decisions.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic business decisions.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Assist with financial performance reviews and planning initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support for key business projects.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
  • Monitor and report key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Present financial findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify financial trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Evaluate business performance to support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate significant financial fluctuations.
  • Deliver data-driven insights that support organizational growth.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support long-term financial planning activities.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and update financial projections.
  • Collaborate with department leaders during the planning process.
  • Partner with accounting teams to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand operational performance.
  • Support executive leadership with financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects that improve business performance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience developing financial dashboards and executive reports.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and long-range financial planning.
  • Experience working with financial reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience supporting strategic business decision-making.
