Job Description
The Financial Analyst, FP&A prepares standard and ad hoc financial reports for the Firm’s practice group leaders and senior managing partners to help understand results and guide business decisions. The Financial Analyst, FP&A works under general supervision and relies on limited experience and direction to perform duties.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Prepare standard and ad hoc financial reports summarizing key performance indicators and profitability at the practice group, office, and attorney level
- Support the financial managers in design and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package; participate in monthly review calls with senior management and address follow-ups
- Configure specifications to accurately and efficiently extract data from the Firm’s financial reporting software
- Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve inquiries related to financial matters; collaborate with other analysts within team and cross-functionally to resolve issues
- Perform ongoing audits of financial system data to ensure data accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standard operating procedures
- Aid in the annual budgeting process and the analysis of lateral hires
- Assist with the maintenance of the Firm’s financial software and reporting tools
- Aid in the quarterly and annual bank surveys
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years of finance, accounting or consulting experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
- Familiarity with financial reporting software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
