About the role
The Financial Restructuring Group in New York is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to assist with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed mergers & acquisitions. This role offers exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and industries.
Since its inception in 1988, the restructuring group has advised on more than 1,900 restructuring transactions with aggregate debt claims in excess of $4 trillion. With nearly 300 dedicated restructuring professionals worldwide, the group serves clients domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients in out-of-court and Chapter 11 restructurings
- Debt and equity financings
- Distressed M&A advisory services
- Special-situation principal investing
- Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of clients
Financial Analysts are typically members of deal teams comprising at least one Managing Director, Vice President, Associate, and Financial Analyst.
Requirements
- B.A./B.S./B.B.A. in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Applied Economics, including coursework in accounting and finance
- Minimum 12 months prior experience within Financial Restructuring, Debt Advisory, or Distressed M&A
Qualifications
- Strong financial and computer skills
- Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
- Strong analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pay
The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is $135,000–$145,000. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
