Financial Analyst - Finance Development Program

About the Role

Lubrizol is seeking Finance Analysts for its Finance Development Program, a three‑year program with two 18‑month rotations that provides recent graduates or early‑career professionals structured learning and hands‑on experience across Corporate Finance, Operations Finance, and Commercial Finance. Participants work on challenging projects, receive mentorship, and build a professional network.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries as part of the monthly close, including recurring journals and shared profit‑center reclasses.
• Handle activities for domestic holding companies, such as journal posting, trial‑balance review, and BPC upload.
• Perform account reconciliations and analyses.
• Conduct entity trial‑balance reasonability testing, upload entities, and post consolidated journal entries.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly schedules for external reporting to Berkshire Hathaway.
• Provide cost‑center assistance, including master data and matrix management.
• Execute GRIR freight reconciliations and post‑close system tie‑outs.
• Prepare, review, and tie‑out monthly financial statements.
• Prepare, review, and tie‑out quarterly Berkshire schedules.
• Assist with lease accounting and learn Visual Lease.
• Assist with finance policy updates, including technical research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (candidates graduating Dec 2026 or Spring 2027 are welcome).
• 6+ months of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred, including internships.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑starter mentality with willingness to take initiative.
• Process‑improvement mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in SAP, BOBJ, SharePoint, or Power BI.
