Job Responsibilities
- Prepares and interprets management information and other financial reports.
- Mets regularly with Operational Leaders to review financial status of projects.
- Analyzes trends, projections and possible consequences.
- Collaborates with the Proposal Development Office (PDO) in the Utah DCC to prepare budgets and provide feedback on proposals.
- Participates in the establishment and maintenance of cost accounting systems.
- Recommends and implements improvements that affect accounting systems and DCC operations.
- Presents and monitors project/grant budgets and provides assistance with proposals.
- Updates effort allocations for DCC Staff.
- Provides guidance and training on financial matters and procedures.
- Researches and prepares necessary revenue, expense, payroll, journal entries and other accounting procurements and/or corrections.
- Independently determines the type and nature of analysis to be used to obtain the desired information or results, including data to be collected, analysis methods, presentation, format and report structure.
- Remains compliant with all accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP and NIH, State, Private, Foundation and University policies (dependent upon the policies surrounding specified funding sources).
