Responsibilities
- Ensuring accounting requirements are completed accurately and on time
- Documents and substantiates financial transactions by entering account information
- Analyzes operational and financial data, investigates variances, identifies business drivers, and evaluates their impact on planned objectives
- Prepares meaningful variance analysis commentary for management
- Consolidates cost reduction and other continuous improvement activities
- Provides assistance in reporting against performance targets in incentive programs
- Assists with the recommendation, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of the operating agenda
Requirements
- BA in Accounting or Finance
- Strong skills in the areas of analysis, problem-solving, organization, multi-tasking, prioritization, communication, and relationship building
- Ability to think strategically in a constantly changing business environment and market
- Ability to operate with high regard to integrity, trust, and confidentiality
Working Conditions
The Financial Analyst spends 95% of the time in an office environment preparing and reviewing reports, forecasts and financials and attending meetings. The other 5% of the time is spent in the mill environment.
