About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support financial modeling, investment analysis, underwriting, and strategic initiatives across a variety of real estate development projects. This role is ideal for an analytical professional with strong financial modeling skills who is eager to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in real estate or construction is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop complex financial models and perform detailed financial analysis for large-scale real estate development projects.
- Prepare presentations and financial reports for investors, lenders, management, and other project stakeholders.
- Model investment fund waterfalls and promote structures for real estate transactions.
- Build and maintain financial models that support strategic business decisions.
- Aid with underwriting investment funds and equity partnerships.
- Support acquisitions and strategic initiatives through financial analysis and project management.
- Gather market research, industry trends, and competitive intelligence from internal and external sources.
- Support public financing initiatives, including Opportunity Zone Funds, Management Districts, Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs), Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ), and sales tax agreements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to collect information, evaluate opportunities, and communicate key financial insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in accounting coursework.
- One or more years of experience in financial analysis, real estate analysis, commercial real estate development, acquisitions, or underwriting.
- Experience in real estate, private equity, or investment banking is preferred.
- Advanced financial modeling skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, including macros and advanced functions.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, investment return metrics, and quantitative modeling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with Argus software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work independently.
