Financial Analyst
Overview
The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the Managers of Financial Analytics in managing the health systems key Financial Analytics tools and data.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze data for opportunities by site across the system, elevate findings to management
- Analyze the financial metrics across the RWJBH system to assure accuracy and completion
- Aid assigned entities with budgeting process, including entering global assumptions and budget figures prior to go-live, performing financial audits, reviewing and analyzing the Budget P&Ls, presenting review findings to Managers and Local Finance teams, and updating budget changes and spreads in the system, as needed
- Aid sites with rolling forecast process, including updating assumptions, entering adjustments, auditing workbooks and bringing items/questions that may need to be addressed during the monthly meetings to the attention of the Manager, preparing monthly P&L variance reports to identify items to review in the forecast, answering site questions, and reviewing forecast for completion once monthly site meetings are done
- Aid sites with the Strata Management Reporting process, including user role assignment changes, monthly variance commentary distribution, and analysis of monthly variance commentary data that may need further attention, ie. reviewing and identifying variances for explanation and contacting Local Finance and Department Heads if more details are required
- Complete quarterly Vizient financial benchmarking reports for assigned sites
- Be an integral part of data reliability, detailed analysis and consistency of monthly data throughout the RWJBH Health System
- Conduct/Assist in training to Directors/local site staff on StrataJazz for annual refresh of Management Reporting module, Operational Budget training, new releases of the product, new site lead training and rollout of new reports
- Aid sites with day-to-day questions that may arise
- May perform other duties as assigned or directed by management
Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and accounting preferably with Healthcare experience
- All other duties as required
