Financial Analysis Consultant, Claims Finance

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Finance partner supporting Claims Solutions and other assigned Claims organizations, providing financial guidance and strategic decision support.
  • Lead monthly reporting, forecasting, outlooks, annual planning, and variance analysis for assigned business areas.
  • Prepare executive-level financial exhibits, Monthly Business Review (MBR) materials, presentations, and management reporting for Claims and Finance leadership.
  • Perform monthly financial analysis and maintain a regular cadence with business partners to communicate key insights, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Perform monthly reporting and financial analysis for Unallocated and Allocated Loss Adjustment Expenses (ULAE and ALAE) as well as Claim Volume and Volume driver analysis.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of expenses, including allocations, accruals, reserve-related expenses, and other financial transactions.
  • Partner with Workforce Management and operational leaders to analyze staffing trends, productivity metrics, workload forecasts, and organizational needs.
  • Develop operational and financial analyses that connect business performance drivers - including staffing, utilization, claim volumes, referrals, vendor spend, and cost-per-claim metrics to financial results.
  • Support process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancement initiatives to improve efficiency and strengthen decision support capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with TM1, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical tools preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information and business insights to various levels of management.
  • Prioritize building partnerships and influencing business decisions through data-driven analysis.
  • Show strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show proven ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
  • Insurance industry or operational finance experience preferred.
