Financial Aid Counselor I / Loan Coordinator

About the role

The Financial Aid Counselor I/Loan Coordinator is a full-time position based at the Poteau campus. This position is responsible for counseling current and prospective students on the opportunities, application, responsibilities associated with, and the verification process for receiving financial aid, as well as, oversee and offer federal student loans under the direction of the Financial Aid Director.

Responsibilities

• Counsel current and prospective students on financial aid opportunities
• Assist in the application process for financial aid
• Verify student eligibility for financial aid
• Oversee and offer federal student loans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience in financial aid or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
