Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid Services, this role focuses on awarding and processing undergraduate student financial aid, counseling students and families, and packaging specialized population cohorts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial aid offers for undergraduate students, resolve eligibility discrepancies, perform tax verification, and process loans.
- Counsel students, parents, and administrators regarding financial aid, payment plans, bills, and financing alternatives.
- Deliver presentations to the public about financial aid.
- Utilize Ellucian/Colleague for packaging and access federal/state online systems (e.g., FAA access, COD, NSLDS) to review and update student information.
- Review documentation for integrity and determine institutional, state, and federal aid eligibility.
- Implement, interpret, and apply federal, state, and institutional financial aid guidelines and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison to specific university programs and external entities.
- Handle moderately complex, varied tasks requiring analytical skills and routine decision-making.
- Maintain discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- Assist in onboarding new employees and respond to role-related inquiries.
- Coordinate and plan for upcoming projects and responsibilities.
- Maintain regular contact outside the department and university for routine information exchange.
- Operate in a high-traffic office environment with frequent in-person, phone, and electronic interactions.
- Move freely between workstations, campus buildings, and various locations within the building.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned to support departmental needs and university mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Education, Public Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Proficiency in composing clear, professional business correspondence.
- Capability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately.
Schedule
May require occasional evenings and scheduled weekends to meet operational needs.
