Financial Aid Advisor (Temporary)

Meetings and Information Provision

• Meet with students and prospective students to provide information regarding costs of attendance, available financial aid options, and student loan counseling.
• Provide student loan counseling for those who are unable to complete online counseling in person.

Documentation and Record Management

• Review documentation, forms, and other information provided by students to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Update electronic student files appropriately based on information received.
• Scan documents into Image Now.
• Resolve any discrepant or conflicting information in student records.
• Document actions or resolutions in the student electronic file.

Financial Aid Processing

• Review ISIR data to ensure c-codes are appropriately resolved and required verification items are requested.
• Ensure proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.

Customer Service and Support

• Aid students and parents with directions for requesting FSA User IDs.
• Assist with the online completion of FAFSAs (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), MPNs (Master Promissory Notes), and online student loan entrance and exit counseling.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a customer service provider in a professional environment.
• Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and professional ethics in all aspects of the job function.
• Excellent communication skills through active listening and clear, effective delivery of information.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.
• May not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.
