About the role

This position is located at the Cal Poly Solano Campus in Vallejo, California. Under the general direction of the Director of Financial Aid at the Cal Poly Solano Campus, this position serves as the initial contact via phone, in-person and via email correspondence for current and prospective students and their families as well as general public inquires; does document intake; and completes necessary reviews of financial aid files to ensure accuracy of awards and disbursement of financial aid.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational and program management, research and interviewing techniques, and the principles of individual and group behavior.
  • General knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, working knowledge of federal Title IV, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, programs, and eligibility requirements.
  • General knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, knowledge of the objectives, organization, and procedures of the campus Student Services program and its relationship to overall campus operations, including how admissions, academic records, and student accounts interface with financial aid.
  • Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply program rules, regulations, and procedures to individual student circumstances, and to explain the basis for eligibility determinations to students and parents.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
  • Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Pay

Anticipated Hiring Range: $54,000 - $62,000 Per Year
