About the role

The BDC Fund Accounting Department is responsible for the financial and investor reporting associated with Golub Capital’s Business Development Companies ("BDCs"), which includes Golub Capital BDC, Inc. (NASDAQ: GBDC), Golub Capital Direct Lending Corporation, Golub Capital Direct Lending Unlevered Corporation, Golub Capital BDC 4, Inc., Golub Capital Private Credit Fund, Golub Capital Private Income Fund I and Golub Capital Private Income Fund S. The team provides accounting and SEC reporting for the BDCs and their subsidiaries pursuant to the governing operating and investment management agreements and in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. BDC Fund Accounting also provides Golub Capital’s management companies and leadership with reporting and analysis in support of existing business and new initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q / K for review
  • Prepares quarterly earnings release and other investor communications
  • Prepares periodic 8Ks for debt facility amendments, new originations and earnings conference calls
  • Maintains compliance with evolving accounting guidance, providing US GAAP interpretation and preparing technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
  • Supports the BDC Fund Accounting Team in driving operational efficiencies and strong controllership throughout all processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance majors preferred)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar business or industry
  • Public accounting and SEC reporting experience is strongly desired
  • CPA is a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel required, proficiency in PowerPoint, Power BI, Workiva, Wall Street Office, Workday or other general ledger packages is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to operationalize complex agreements and account for investments, incentive fee arrangements and partner allocations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture

Qualifications & Experience

Compensation & Benefits

For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $65,000 - $110,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered.
