About the role
All properties are supported by our Massachusetts-based Home Office which houses the following departments: Accounting; Accounts Payable; Accounts Receivable; Payroll; Management; Operations; and Finance. The Financial Accountant position is responsible for activities associated with maintaining and reviewing ledger accounts, generating and reviewing financial statements and reports, as well as completing financial analysis projects and reporting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and related analysis.
- Review transactional detail for discrepancies/accuracy.
- Reconcile accounts and review reconciliations prepared by others.
- Assist with regulatory filing requirements.
- Participate in year-end income tax return preparation of various entities.
- Compile financials and specific community business plans to assist with property financing and lender compliance.
- Participate in property acquisition and sales closing transactions.
- Support leadership with financial and administrative projects.
- Manage Real Estate Tax valuation and abatement process
Requirements
- BS in Accounting, Economics or Finance
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate financial results
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Motivated, proactive self-starter
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Qualifications

Pay
The pay range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 annually.
