About the role

This position supports and directly influences the launch and expansion of Amazon Leo, driving strategic initiatives that help grow and scale the business. The role champions controllership and scalability, partnering closely with global stakeholders—including business product managers, financial technology teams, accounting operations, business finance, tax, and treasury—to deliver world-class financial solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.

Successful candidates will operate in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, requiring strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to influence leaders, and expertise in analyzing quantitatively, problem-solving, scoping business requirements, and prioritizing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive new and evolving programs with cross-functional stakeholders, defining end-to-end strategy, owning and managing implementation activities, and developing processes, metrics, documentation, and communications.
  • Partner with worldwide business, technology, and product teams to deliver high-quality programs.
  • Provide feedback on priorities, timelines, and outcomes to influence business processes and decision-making, scaling financial recordkeeping health while meeting business objectives.
  • Communicate and influence adoption of programs and processes across leaders, peers, and cross-functional organizations.
  • Collaborate with business, product, accounting, technology, and finance owners globally to build scalable financial automation with the highest degree of controllership.
  • Proactively set up the team for success, anticipate challenges, and earn trust through broad stakeholder influence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives or projects.
  • Deep experience in accounting, program management, and financial systems implementation.
  • Financial accounting knowledge and experience working with technology teams to design and build world-class financial systems integration solutions.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive implementation of decisions across a global scope, balancing time-to-market with investments in automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
  • Experience partnering with technology teams to design financial recordkeeping systems for global, multi-currency, multi-entity organizations.

Pay

Base salary ranges by location:

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, OR, Portland: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $85,900 – $146,900 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually

Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
