About the role

This position supports and directly influences the launch and expansion of Amazon Leo, driving strategic initiatives that help grow and scale the business. The role champions controllership and scalability while partnering closely with global stakeholders—including business product managers, financial technology teams, accounting operations, business finance, tax, and treasury—to deliver world-class financial solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.

Successful candidates will have deep experience in Accounting, Program Management, and Financial Systems Implementation, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to influence leaders and prioritize business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive new and evolving programs with cross-functional stakeholders, defining end-to-end strategy, owning implementation activities, and supporting continuous improvement through processes, metrics, documentation, and communications.
  • Partner with worldwide business, technology, and product teams to deliver high-quality programs.
  • Provide feedback on priorities, timelines, and outcomes to influence business processes and decision-making, ensuring scalable financial recordkeeping while meeting business objectives.
  • Communicate and influence adoption of programs and processes across leaders, peers, and cross-functional organizations.
  • Collaborate with global business, product, accounting, technology, and finance owners to build scalable financial automation with the highest degree of controllership.
  • Proactively identify challenges, set the team up for success, and earn trust through broad stakeholder influence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives or projects.
  • Financial accounting knowledge and experience working with technology teams to design and build world-class financial systems integration solutions.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive implementation of decisions across a global scope, balancing time to market with investments in automation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
  • Experience partnering with technology teams to design financial recordkeeping systems for global, multi-currency, multi-entity organizations.

Pay

Base salary ranges by location:

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, OR, Portland: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $85,900 – $146,900 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually

Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
