- The Department of Purchasing and Contracts welcomes applications for a Finance Purchasing Agent Assistant position.
- This positions is in provisional status. Continued employment is contingent upon taking and passing a civil service examination when it is offered by CUNY.
- Reporting to the Director of Procurement, or their designee, the Purchasing Agent Assistant will:
- Cook up the day-to-day accounting activities of the Purchasing Department, including answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and maintaining all Purchasing and Buyer daily calendars.
- Prepare necessary purchasing documents; perform bid tabulations and analysis, examine samples, and investigate bidders.
- Manage purchases made through Related Entities budgets and the College’s Manhattan Educational Opportunities Center (MEOC) budgets.
- Register suppliers in the NYC Payee Information Portal and CUNYBuy Supplier Registration Systems, and follow up with suppliers and college departments as needed.
- Create phone bids and requests for quotes, and gather all supporting documentation required by Buyers.
- Maintain and update all internal shared folders.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school graduation or its equivalent and two years of full-time, paid experience in purchasing a large volume and/or variety of materials, supplies, or equipment, or two years of full-time, paid experience in a field closely related to large-scale purchasing such as inspection or specification writing covering a large volume and/or variety of materials, supplies or equipment;
- A baccalaureate degree, from an accredited college, in marketing, materials testing, mathematics, merchandising, purchasing, retailing, economics, or finance;
- A combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2".
Compensation
- New Hire: $46,172*
- Incumbent: $52,180
