Finance & Operations Manager
Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance & Operations Manager for a mission-driven nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of underserved individuals and families through advocacy, essential services, and community partnerships. This is a primarily remote, hybrid opportunity based in New York City, NY, with occasional onsite responsibilities in the Manhattan office.

The Finance & Operations Manager will serve as a key leader responsible for overseeing financial operations, organizational systems, and day-to-day business functions that support the organization's mission and long-term success. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this position partners with accounting professionals, funders, and internal teams to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis while supporting organizational planning and decision-making.
- Partner with accounting professionals to manage financial operations, grant and contract tracking, restricted funding, audit preparation, and nonprofit compliance.
- Manage operational systems including office administration, technology infrastructure, purchasing, vendor relationships, and process improvements.
- Coordinate organizational compliance activities, including employment administration, operational documentation, and reporting for funders and stakeholders.
- Support fundraising initiatives by tracking donations, assisting with donor reporting, coordinating fundraising events, and identifying funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness, organizational sustainability, and long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Experience managing nonprofit finance, accounting, operations, or organizational administration within a mission-driven environment.
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management, budgeting, grants, contracts, GAAP, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience collaborating across teams and with external partners.
- Proficiency with financial systems, operational processes, and technology platforms, along with a continuous improvement mindset.

Pay
Competitive salary of $70,000–$100,000, based on experience.
Schedule
