Finance Officer - Governance Senior Adviser

About the role

PSD Scotland is a remote‑friendly employer with staff based throughout Scotland, supporting office‑based and hybrid working arrangements. Some attendance is required at the Edinburgh office. The post is a fixed‑term, full‑time role (36 hours per week) until 31 January 2028, with NHS applicants considered for a secondment first and non‑NHS applicants considered for a fixed‑term or secondment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Directorate to meet monthly deadlines and goals.
• Work within the Governance & Operational Finance team to assist with financial governance and transactional processing.
• Develop your finance knowledge and skills through self‑development opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
• Apply problem‑solving skills in a fast‑changing environment.

Requirements

• Currently employed by Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) – this vacancy is internal only.
• Eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK, to be maintained throughout employment.

Skills

• Experience working in the field of reconciliations of banking and payroll and VAT control accounts.
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team, directly supporting colleagues.
• Customer‑focused with a flexible problem‑solving attitude.
• Ability to implement, develop, review and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• High level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills (both verbal and written) and a pleasant manner.
• Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, using tact and persuasion as needed.
• Ability to work on own initiative, organise and prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
