Job Overview
The Finance Manager, Revenue Reporting role is a specialized pharmaceutical finance position focused on reporting gross sales and net revenue by forecasting, analyzing, and accounting for all commercial and government rebates and deductions.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end GTN forecasting processes for generic pharmaceutical portfolios, and analyze gross sales to determine accurate net sales projections
- Build accrual models for Chargebacks, Medicaid, rebates, and Wholesaler fees, Returns reserve, and Distribution service agreements, Price protection
- Transactional Validation skills to mitigate revenue leakage and customer deduction management, and soft skills on dispute resolutions with customers
- Identify process gaps and implement internal controls, assess current workflows, find points of failure, and install safeguards
- Ensure operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and prevent fraud
- Lead month-end and quarter-end revenue close activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and reserve analysis
- Perform actual vs forecast variance analysis
- Support external/internal audit requirements and SOX controls
- CMO Products, Royalty calculations
- Evaluate financial impact of pricing strategies and contract changes
- Hands-on experience in monitoring and reviewing offshore team activities
- Monitor customer deductions and ensure the timely remittance from customers' OS Invoices
- Analytics & Systems
- Develop GTN dashboards and KPI reporting
- Improve automation and forecasting accuracy
- Drive Automation in area assigned
- Work with respective stakeholders internal and external to close open issues
Qualifications
- Experienced Finance Manager with expertise in US Generics Gross-to-Net (GTN) revenue accounting, forecasting, accrual management, and net sales reporting within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong background in managing complex GTN deductions, including chargebacks, rebates, Medicaid, admin fees, returns, and price protection programs
- Skilled in variance analysis and cross-functional business partnering with Pricing, Contracts, Market Access, Commercial, and Government Pricing teams
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with peers and upper management
- Outstanding Excel and data analytics skills
- Self-reliant, problem solver with a natural bias towards continuous operational improvement
- Strong financial, analytical, and technical accounting skills with the ability to provide effective financial analysis and insight of implications of operational trends
- Education & Experience
- Degree in Finance or Accounting (Finance Graduate, MBA, CMA, or CPA)
- 3+ years of direct experience in Revenue reporting role for a large/mid sized Pharmaceutical company
