Finance Manager, North American Customer Fulfillment

About the role

Amazon’s North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Inbound Operations Finance Team, supporting operational and functional leaders in IXD, SDC, 1DC, and RDC within Amazon's Fulfillment Network. Amazon operates the most complex retail networks in the world, delivering billions of packages to hundreds of millions of homes and businesses annually. This role focuses on inputs, thinking like an owner, and driving operational and financial excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Business Finance Support: Build financial models and analyses with limited guidance; draw conclusions and make recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements. Identify opportunities to resolve finance defects and improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes. Align financial and operational analyses with business partners, challenging assumptions when necessary. Provide analysis and recommendations to support operational and growth decisions.
• Controllership: Own reporting for a business area; supervise or teach others in building or maintaining reporting. Identify and resolve complex data integrity issues in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop scalable and auditable data analysis processes.
• Communication: Communicate data clearly and concisely (written and verbal), adjusting style for the audience. Create effective business partnerships with Finance partners and Site Leaders, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance during unexpected events.
• Team Leadership: Participate in developing and mentoring activities, leveraging diverse perspectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analyses, and recommendations with proven impact (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
• MBA or CPA
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation
